Start by adding 3 eggs to a bowl.
Pour in 1 cup of orange juice, ensuring there are no seeds.
Add 2 cups of sugar to the mixture.
Measure and add 1 cup of lard (banha).
Incorporate 6 tablespoons of yeast into the mixture.
Add 4 tablespoons of sweetener (adoçante).
Pour in 3 cups of warm water.
Grate in some nutmeg and add a bit of fennel (erva-doce) for flavor.
Mix the ingredients together before adding flour.
Gradually add flour until the dough reaches the right consistency, mixing by hand.
Knead the dough until it no longer sticks to your hands, adding more flour as needed.
Once the dough is ready, cover it with a cloth and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.
Prepare the crumb topping (farofa) by mixing 2 tablespoons of margarine and 2 tablespoons of lard in a bowl.
Add 1 cup of sugar to the margarine and lard mixture and mix until creamy.
Gradually add flour to the creamy mixture to form a crumbly texture.
Ensure the crumb topping is well mixed and has the right consistency.
