750 gms chicken, curry cut
3 medium onions, fine chopped
3 tsp ginger garlic paste
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
4 green cardamom
4 cloves
4 sticks cinnamon
1/2 tsp turmeric powder
2 tsp red chilli powder
2 tsp coriander powder
1/2 tsp cumin powder
200 gm whisked curd
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp salt or to taste

Marinate the chicken pieces with turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, whisked curd, and salt. Mix & set aside for an hour.

Chop the onions.

Heat oil in a kadhai & add the whole garam masala (cloves, cardamom & cinnamon). Once it splutters, add the chopped onions.

Fry on high to medium for around 10 mins till onions turn light brown.

Add the ginger-garlic paste & fry for around 2 mins till raw smell is gone.

Now add the marinated chicken & fry on high to medium for around 10 mins.

Continue to “bhuno” on medium for another 10 mins till the chicken pieces are browned.

Add garam masala powder, mix well & then add 1/2 cup of water.

Mix, cover & cook on low for 10-15 mins till chicken is tender.

Serve hot with roti or rice.
