Prepare the ingredients: liver, garlic salt, seasoning salt, garlic powder, black pepper, onions, and flour.
Sprinkle a tablespoon of garlic salt over the liver.
Sprinkle seasoning salt over the liver.
Sprinkle garlic powder over the liver.
Sprinkle black pepper over the liver.
Use hands to mix and coat the liver with the seasonings.
Heat grease in a pan and add a little flour to check if it's hot.
Coat the liver with flour and lay it in the frying pan.
Fry the liver for about 2-3 minutes on each side on medium-high heat.
Flip the liver to ensure even cooking and avoid burning.
Once fried, pour off the majority of the grease from the pan.
Add additional flour to the remaining grease in the pan to make gravy.
Add a little more grease if the flour clumps together.
Fry the flour until it reaches a nice brown color, stirring consistently.
Cut up the onions and add them to the pan to fry with the flour.
Add water to the pan, about 2 cups total, to create the gravy.
Season the gravy with seasoning salt, garlic powder, and black pepper to taste.
Bring the gravy to a boil and check the consistency, adjusting with more water if needed.
Add the fried liver pieces to the gravy, ensuring they are covered.
Let the liver simmer in the gravy for about 10 minutes.
