100 grams soft butter
100 grams soft light brown sugar

150 grams self-raising flour
3 tubes of smarties

Preheat the oven to 180 degrees Celsius (160 degrees for fan oven) or 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Grease a baking tray.

In a bowl, add 100 grams of very soft butter and cream it.

Add 100 grams of soft light brown sugar to the butter and cream together.

Mix in 1 tablespoon of golden syrup until well incorporated.

Sift in half of 150 grams of self-raising flour and mix it in.

Add the remaining flour and mix until combined.

Add 3 tubes of smarties and mix them into the dough.

If the dough looks dry, knead it with your hands and add 1 tablespoon of milk if necessary.

Take a big spoon of the cookie dough and roll it into a ball, making it larger than a small cookie.

Place the dough balls on the greased baking tray, spaced far apart.
