Stuffed Bell Peppers with Beef and Rice

Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Cut the tops off the bell peppers and remove the seeds.
In a skillet, sauté the diced onion and minced garlic until translucent.
Add the lean ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned.
Stir in the cooked white rice, salt, pepper, Italian mix seasoning, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, and egg until well combined.
Stuff the bell peppers with the beef and rice mixture.
In a casserole dish, spread 2 cups of marinara sauce or pasta sauce and ½ cup of water at the bottom.
Place the stuffed bell peppers upright in the casserole dish.
Top the stuffed peppers with mozzarella cheese.
Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
