Negroni
Cultural Context
The Negroni is a classic Italian cocktail that originated in Florence in the early 20th century. It is known for its balance of bitter and sweet flavors.
Start with a mixing glass.
Measure and add 1 shot of gin to the mixing glass.
Add 1 shot of Campari to the mixing glass.
Add 1 shot of sweet vermouth to the mixing glass.
Add ice to the mixing glass.
Stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds to chill and dilute the drink.
Grab a rocks glass and place a large cube of ice inside.
Use a julep strainer to pour the mixture over the large cube of ice in the rocks glass.
Finish by adding an orange wedge to the drink.
