1/4 cup water
1/2 tsp garam masala powder
150 ml water

Wash the chicken thoroughly and drain the water.

In a pressure cooker, add 200 ml mustard oil.

Add 1/2 finely chopped onion to the oil and mix well.

Fry the onion until tender and golden brown.

Remove the fried onion to a bowl and add 2 bay leaves and 1 piece of cinnamon stick to the oil.

Mix the bay leaves and cinnamon stick with the oil.

Add 2 chopped red chilies to the oil.

Fry the onion until golden brown again.

Add the washed chicken to the pot and mix well.

Fry the chicken until its color changes.

Add 1/2 tsp red chili powder, adjusting salt and chili according to taste.

Add 1 tsp Kashmiri red chili powder (optional) for color.

Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder and 1 tsp coriander powder.

Mix all the spices well and fry for 2-3 minutes.

Add 4 large chopped tomatoes and cook until the water evaporates and oil releases from the surface.

Add 1/2 tsp cumin powder, 1/4 tsp black pepper powder, and 1/2 tsp garam masala powder.

Add the previously fried onions back into the pot and mix with the chicken.

Add 150 ml water, ensuring not to add too much as the chicken will release water.

Close the pressure cooker lid and set the flame to high.

Once pressure builds, reduce the flame to low and cook for 2-3 minutes.

After 2-3 minutes, turn off the flame and let the pressure release naturally.

Check if the chicken is tender by lifting a piece out.

Mix everything well in the cooker and add green chilies and fresh coriander on top.

Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to release flavors from the chilies and coriander.

Turn off the flame and serve the chicken stew hot.
