Preheat the pan over medium to high heat until hot enough to hear a sizzle when the steak is added.
Gently press the steak to ensure even contact with the pan.
Cook the steak for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-well doneness, adjusting time if the steaks are thicker.
Add butter, garlic, and thyme to the pan and start basting the steak.
Once done, take the steaks out and let them rest for 4 minutes.
Cut the meat against the muscle fibers or grains to make it easier to chew.
