French Onion Meatballs

1 pound ground beef
1 egg
2 tablespoons garlic
2 tablespoons Mrs. Dash
2 tablespoons Italian seasoning
2 tablespoons black pepper
2 tablespoons garlic salt
1 package onion recipe soup and dip mix
1/3 cup red onions
1/2 cup bread crumbs
2 tablespoons butter
3 tablespoons flour
2 cups beef broth
Gouda cheese (or cheese of choice)

Put 1 pound of ground beef in a bowl.

Add 1 egg to the ground beef.

Add 2 tablespoons of garlic to the mixture.

Add 2 tablespoons of Mrs. Dash seasoning.

Add 2 tablespoons of Italian seasoning.

Add 2 tablespoons of black pepper.

Add 2 tablespoons of garlic salt.

Add the whole package of onion recipe soup and dip mix.

Add 1/3 cup of chopped red onions.

Add 1/2 cup of bread crumbs.

Mix all ingredients together using gloves.

Form the mixture into meatballs of desired size.

Place the meatballs in a skillet without adding oil.

Cook meatballs on medium heat for about 15 minutes, turning them continuously to brown on all sides.

Remove meatballs from the skillet after 15 minutes.

Add 2 tablespoons of butter to the skillet and let it melt.

Add the remaining half cup of onions to the skillet and sauté for about 3 minutes until translucent.

Add 3 tablespoons of flour to the onions and cook for 1 minute to remove the raw flour taste.

Gradually add 2 cups of beef broth to the skillet, breaking up any clumps of flour.

Incorporate the meatballs back into the skillet with the gravy.

Let the meatballs cook in the gravy for 15 minutes with the lid on, stirring occasionally after 5 minutes.

Add Gouda cheese to the skillet before serving, if desired.
