Fill the carafe to the line that says 8 cups with water.

Open the top of the coffee maker and pour the water into the back reservoir.

Place the carafe back in its position.

Pull out the basket and place a coffee filter inside it.

Add 10 tablespoons of coffee to the filter.

Close the lid of the coffee maker.

Locate the power or brew button and push it to start brewing.

Wait for the coffee to brew, noting that it may brew slowly or quickly depending on the coffee maker.

Demonstrate the use of the stopper by pulling out the carafe to pour a cup of coffee before brewing is complete, then replace the carafe back.

Once brewing is finished, pour a cup of coffee from the carafe.
