1

Start by cooking 200 g of bacon in a pan until it starts to brown.

2

Add 5 pieces of sausage without the skin and fry them together with the bacon.

3

Once the sausage is cooked, add 1/2 chopped onion, 3 sliced garlic cloves, 1 small diced carrot, and 1/2 bell pepper to the pan.

4

Stir and cook until the onion is translucent and the garlic is golden.

5

Add 1 can of corn (drained) and 1 cup of frozen peas to the mixture and stir.

6

Add 5 cups of cooked rice to the pan and mix well to combine all ingredients.

7

In a separate pot, melt 3 tablespoons of butter and then add 3 tablespoons of flour to make a roux, cooking for about 30 seconds.

8

Slowly add 700 ml of milk to the roux while whisking to avoid lumps, and cook until it thickens.

9

Add a generous pinch of salt and grated nutmeg to the sauce.

10

Once thickened, add 150 g of mozzarella cheese to the sauce and stir until melted.

11

Combine the cheese sauce with the rice mixture and mix thoroughly.

12

Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and cover with additional mozzarella cheese.

13

Bake in the oven until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
