2 small carrots
2 potatoes
5 cloves garlic
1 piece sweet pepper
2 pounds ground chicken
1 tablespoon Honduran recado
1 tablespoon salt
thyme to taste
cumin to taste
2 cups tomato sauce
1 sprig cilantro
1 cup hot water from a beet
4 tablespoons vinegar
olive oil for frying

1

Cut half a cabbage finely.

2

Chop half a red onion.

3

Peel and dice 2 small carrots.

4

Peel and dice 2 potatoes.

5

Chop 5 cloves of garlic.

6

Dice a piece of sweet pepper.

7

Cut green plantains into thin slices lengthwise and place them on a tray.

8

Add 1 tablespoon of Honduran recado, 1 tablespoon of salt, thyme, and cumin to taste.

9

Prepare about 2 cups of tomato sauce and add all the chopped vegetables including a sprig of cilantro.

10

Wash the cabbage before using.

11

In a pan, heat olive oil over medium-high heat and fry the vegetables.

12

Add 2 pounds of ground chicken to the pan and cook for approximately 20 minutes with the pot covered.

13

Add 1 teaspoon of salt to the chopped onion.

14

Pour in approximately 1 cup of hot water from a beet and 4 tablespoons of vinegar into the sauce.

15

If using prepared sauce, heat it in a fryer with high heat and very hot oil.

16

Fry the plantain slices for approximately 3 minutes, or 2.5 minutes if using green bananas, ensuring they don't get too crispy.

17

Once the plantains are golden, take them out and place them on a plate.

18

Layer the dish by placing the plantain slices first, followed by the cabbage and cilantro on top, then the ground meat, tomato sauce, pickled onion, and grated cheese to taste.
