Switch on the pan to make the sauce with milk.

Add 100 mL of milk and 1/2 teaspoon corn starch to the pan.

Cook for 1 to 2 minutes until the milk thickens slightly.

Set the sauce aside.

In another bowl, add sugar as per taste and very little water to make the sugar syrup.

Boil the mixture until it reaches a slightly thick consistency, similar to gulab jamun syrup.

Chop raisins, almonds, and cashew nuts and mix them in a bowl.

Add 1 tablespoon of butter and 2 tablespoons of ghee to the chopped nuts and mix well.

Layer the kunafa pastry in a round mold, adding the nut mixture and the corn starch sauce in between layers.

Pour the sugar syrup over the top after baking.

Bake at 180°C for 15 minutes until golden brown.

Loosen the edges and demold the kunafa onto a serving plate.

Pour the sugar syrup over the demolded kunafa and garnish with pistachios.
