Roasted Turkey in a Bag

Preheat the oven to 350°F and adjust the oven racks to the bottom position to fit the turkey.

Chop 3 ribs of celery into chunks and set aside for stuffing inside the turkey.

Quarter a whole onion (white or yellow) and set aside for stuffing inside the turkey.

Wash and chop 3 large carrots into chunks and set aside for stuffing inside the turkey.

In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup of softened butter, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of pepper, and 1 tablespoon of minced garlic to create a paste.

Prepare a roasting pan with a rack and ensure it has a lip to hold the juices.

Take a Reynolds oven-safe turkey bag and place it in the roasting pan.

Remove the plastic and wiring from a thawed 19 lb turkey using kitchen scissors.
