The protein version caters to health-conscious individuals, allowing them to indulge without compromising their dietary goals. Start with a bowl big enough to mix your dough.
Add 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 8 ounces of vanilla Greek yogurt, 2 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt into the bowl.
Mix everything together with a utensil or hand mixer for a couple of minutes until it starts to clump up into a ball that is slightly sticky.
If the dough is too sticky, add a little more flour as the ratio may change depending on the water content of the yogurt.
Lay out some parchment paper with a little flour on top to help with stickiness.
Place the dough onto the parchment paper and flatten it out using your hands or a rolling pin, keeping flour on top to prevent sticking.
For the filling, brush on either coconut oil or butter, followed by your choice of sweetener and a generous amount of ground cinnamon.
Slowly roll the dough up tightly.
Cut the rolls using string or floss for easier slicing.
Flip the rolls over and place them in the oven at 350°F for around 20 minutes.
While the rolls are baking, prepare the frosting by mixing together 6 ounces of cream cheese, 1.5 scoops of protein powder, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 ounces of Greek yogurt, and optional sweetener until smooth.
Once the cinnamon rolls are done baking, frost them with the prepared frosting.
