2 1/2 tablespoons of salt
2 quarts of water (2 quarts equals 9 cups)
8 cups of Madam Gougousse rice

Heat a pot on the stove over medium-high heat (6 or 7). Add the oil, salt, and green onion. Let the green onion fry for about one minute.

Add the water and bring it to a boil. Taste the water for salt.

Once the water is boiling, add the washed rice. Stir occasionally and let it cook for about 6-7 minutes.

When the water is almost completely absorbed, reduce the heat to low (2 or 3) and cover the pot with aluminum foil. Let it cook for 30 to 45 minutes.

After 45 minutes, uncover the pot and enjoy!
