Texas Style Chili

Cultural Context

Originating from the Texan frontier, Texas Style Chili is a hearty dish that embodies the spirit of the American Southwest. Traditionally made with beef and a blend of spices, it was often served at community gatherings and competitions, showcasing local flavors and culinary traditions. Today, chili has evolved into various styles across the U.S., but Texas chili remains distinct for its focus on meat and spices, often eschewing beans in favor of a rich, meaty base.
