Add 1 pound of 93% lean ground beef to the slow cooker.

Pour in 2 cups of chicken broth, then add an additional half cup for a total of 2.5 cups.

Break up the ground beef and mix it with the broth.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 hours.

After 2 hours, check the meat to ensure it is cooked through and stir it up.

Add 1 cup of elbow macaroni and stir it in, then add another half cup for a total of 1.5 cups.

Cover the slow cooker and monitor the noodles until they are cooked, stirring occasionally.

After about 15 minutes, check the noodles; they should have absorbed most of the liquid.

Add salt to taste, as the dish was a little light on salt.

Add a couple of handfuls of cheddar cheese and mix it in until melted.

Add a splash of half and half to make it creamier, then cover and let it melt.

Scoop the mac and cheese out of the slow cooker into a bowl to prevent the noodles from becoming mushy.
