1 kg rice
750 grams tuna fish
500 grams potatoes
2 medium size carrots
2 medium cinnamon sticks
4 tbsp ginger paste
5 large onions
4 tbsp garlic paste
2 tbsp biryani spice
1 tbsp cumin seeds
2 dried chillies
4/5 cardamon pods
4/5 cloves
200 grams finely chopped coriander
200 grams finely chopped mint
4 tbsp yoghurt
1 cup oil
2 tbsp ghee (optional)

Soak rice for 30 mins.

Fry onions until crispy and golden brown (set aside).

Fry potatoes, carrots and fish until golden and crispy.

In the same pan, add dried chillies, cloves, cumin seeds, cinnamon sticks and cardamom pods.

Add ginger garlic paste and cook for 2 minutes.

Add biryani spice and cook for further 3 mins until fragrant.

Add yoghurt and ghee and mix well.

Add fried potatoes, carrots and fish, and mix well until covered in spices.

Add half of chopped coriander and mint leaves and half of the onions as well.

Cover with rice.

Cover rice with water to a depth of 1 inch from rice.

Cook for 35 mins.

Garnish with the rest of coriander, mint and onions.
