Instructions

  1. 1Heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. 2Add butter to the skillet until melted.

  5. 5Toast bread slices in a toaster or on a skillet until golden brown.

  • 1 pork cutlet (about 150g)
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp tonkatsu sauce
  • 1 leaf of lettuce (optional)
  • 1 slice of tomato (optional)

Instructions

  1. 1Prepare the pork cutlet by seasoning it with salt and pepper.
  2. 2Dredge the pork cutlet in flour, shaking off the excess.
  3. 3Dip the floured cutlet into the beaten egg, ensuring it is fully coated.
  4. 4Coat the cutlet with panko breadcrumbs, pressing gently to adhere.
  5. 5Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  6. 6Once the oil is hot, add the breaded cutlet and fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  7. 7Remove the cutlet from the pan and drain on paper towels.

Instructions

  1. 1In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, panko breadcrumbs, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, mirin, sake, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  2. 2Mix the ingredients until well combined, but do not overmix.
  3. 3Form the mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. 4Preheat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  5. 5Thread the meatballs onto skewers, leaving a little space between each one.
  6. 6Grill the meatballs for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are cooked through and have nice grill marks.
  7. 7During the last few minutes of grilling, brush the meatballs with teriyaki sauce to glaze them.
  8. 8Remove the skewers from the grill and let them rest for a few minutes before serving.
  9. 9Serve the yakitori meatballs warm, garnished with additional green onions if desired.
