Add 2 pounds of ground beef to the pan and brown it.

Add the remaining mushroom stems and pieces on top of the rice.

Layer the remaining beef mixture on top of the mushrooms.

Pour the rest of the mushroom soup mixture over the top.

Cover the slow cooker and cook on high for 3.5 hours.

After 3.5 hours, check the casserole for moisture.

Layer cheese (block cheese similar to Velveeta) on top of the casserole and cover it again.
