Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
Prepare a baking dish by greasing it with olive oil.
Place the broccoli florets in a steamer and steam until tender, about 5-7 minutes.
Season the salmon fillets with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice.
In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté minced garlic and chopped onion until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add white wine to the skillet and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes until reduced.
Layer the steamed broccoli in the prepared baking dish, followed by the salmon fillets on top.
Spread the sautéed garlic and onion mixture over the salmon.
Grate comté cheese generously over the salmon and broccoli.
Sprinkle breadcrumbs over the cheese for added texture.
Dot with small pieces of butter for richness.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Remove from the oven and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
