Using whole wheat flour boosts fiber content, while yogurt can mimic the tangy flavor.

Nutritional yeast is a dairy-free option, while cheddar is often more affordable.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in a cast iron pan on the stove.
Measure 3/4 cup of sourdough discard into a mixing bowl.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt to the sourdough discard.
Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Once the butter is melted, let it cool slightly before adding it to the mixture.
Combine the melted butter with the sourdough discard and salt until well mixed.
Pour the mixture onto the parchment paper and spread it out into a thin rectangle.
Sprinkle additional salt or toppings of choice on top of the mixture.
Preheat the oven to 325°F.
Bake the crackers for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven to score them with a pizza cutter.
Score the crackers into rectangular shapes and return them to the oven.
Bake for an additional 20 to 40 minutes, checking every 10 to 20 minutes until the edges turn golden and the crackers are crisp.
Remove the crackers from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet or transfer to a cooling rack.
