The combination of smoky, sweet BBQ sauce and tender brisket creates a satisfying experience that has made it a staple in many households across the United States.

Chicken is leaner, while pork shoulder is often less expensive.
Season one side of the brisket with salt and black pepper.
Heat avocado oil in a Magic Mill slow cooker on medium-high heat.
Sear the brisket in the oil for about 5-6 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and sear for another 4-5 minutes on the other side.
Remove the brisket from the cooker and set aside.
Add 5 smashed cloves of garlic to the cooker and stir.
Pour in beer (Guinness) to deglaze the pan, scraping up the brown bits from the bottom.
Simmer the beer for a few minutes to reduce it slightly.
Add 15 ounces of canned tomato sauce, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, yellow mustard, chopped bell pepper, poblano pepper, and 1/2 sliced onion to the cooker.
Add 1 bay leaf, a couple teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 cup of apple cider vinegar to the mixture and stir well.
Nestle the brisket back into the sauce mixture, ensuring some sauce is on top of the brisket.
Cover the slow cooker and set it to low for 8 hours.
After 8 hours, remove the brisket and shred it using two forks.
Drizzle some of the sauce from the slow cooker over the shredded brisket.
Assemble the sliders using pretzel slider buns, adding shredded brisket, homemade coleslaw, and extra sauce if desired.
