Today, pretzel bites have gained popularity worldwide, appearing at sporting events and casual parties.

Nutritional yeast offers a cheesy flavor with fewer calories.
Start by adding all-purpose flour to the electric mixer.
Add instant yeast directly to the dry ingredients without proofing.
Add a little bit of sugar to help the yeast activate.
Add a little bit of salt for flavor.
Mix the dry ingredients with the paddle attachment to combine.
Add room temperature water gradually, mixing on low speed until a shaggy dough forms.
Switch to the dough hook once the dough is shaggy and not yet a complete ball.
Add room temperature butter in small pieces, ensuring each piece is incorporated before adding more.
Knead the dough on low speed for about 6 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic but still stiff.
Knead the dough by hand to check the consistency, ensuring it feels elastic and stiff.
Form the dough into a round ball and prepare it for fermentation.
Grease a large bowl with canola oil to prevent sticking.
Place the dough in the greased bowl and cover with plastic wrap, noting the time (2:30) for reference.
Let the dough rise in a warm place until it doubles in size, about 1 hour.
Once risen, remove the plastic wrap and portion the dough into 8 pieces using a bench cutter.
Keep the pieces not being worked with covered to prevent drying out.
Shape each piece into a tight tube by tucking in the edges and rolling it up, pinching the seam closed.
Roll each piece into a long strand, using fingers to gently spread rather than stretch the dough.
