1

Prepare the ingredients: gather 1 pound of ground beef, 2 tablespoons of Sofrito, 1 packet of Sasson, 4 oz of tomato sauce, 1 medium tomato, and a medium potato.

2

Heat 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan over medium heat.

3

Add the ground beef to the pan and break it up with a wooden spoon as it cooks.

4

Season the meat with adobo, salt, and pepper while it browns, cooking for about 10 to 15 minutes until fully cooked and tender.

5

Once the meat is browned, add 2 tablespoons of Sofrito and sauté until fragrant.

6

Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan, cover, and reduce the heat to low. Cook for 10 to 15 minutes to tenderize the meat further.

7

While the meat is cooking, peel and dice the medium potato into small pieces and place them in cold water to prevent browning.

8

After 15 minutes, check the meat. If it is tender, add the diced potatoes, 4 oz of tomato sauce, and 1 packet of Sasson. Stir to combine.

9

Add an additional 1/2 cup of water to the mixture, cover, and cook on medium heat until the potatoes are tender, checking for seasoning after about 10 minutes.

10

If needed, adjust seasoning with salt and pepper before serving.
