1 oz dried mushrooms
2 tbsp cooking oil
4 oz onion
3 cloves garlic
1 lb smoked ham & sausage
2 lbs sauerkraut
salt to taste
½ tsp pepper
2 tbsp sweet paprika
1 bay leaf
7 cups meat broth or water

Soak 1 oz dried mushrooms in warm water for 15 minutes.

Heat 2 tbsp cooking oil in a pot over low heat.

Add 4 oz chopped onion and sauté for 3 minutes.

Add 3 cloves minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute.

Rinse and drain the soaked mushrooms, then add 1 lb smoked ham & sausage to the pot.

Add 2 lbs sauerkraut to the pot.

Season with salt to taste, ½ tsp pepper, and 2 tbsp sweet paprika.

Add 1 bay leaf and 7 cups meat broth or water.

Bring to a boil and simmer on low heat for 1 hour and 30 minutes.
