This hearty dish symbolizes warmth and togetherness, typically made with smoked meats and spices. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
Add sliced onion and sauté until translucent.
Add dried mushrooms and sauté for a few more minutes.
Stir in sauerkraut and red grounded pepper.
Pour in water and add bay leaf and allspice.
Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until flavors meld.
