1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed

Heat 1 teaspoon of oil in a large skillet or frying pan over medium heat, allowing a few minutes for the oil to heat up.

Add 3 cups of chopped sweet potatoes, 1 chopped bell pepper, 1 cup of chopped onion, and the seasonings (2 teaspoons garlic powder, 1 teaspoon cumin, and 1/4 teaspoon salt) to the pan.

Stir everything well to ensure even mixing in the pan.

Cook for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the sweet potatoes are soft.

Once the sweet potatoes are soft, add the drained and rinsed black beans to the pan.

Stir to mix and heat the black beans for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
