To make the sauce, mix chopped pickled gherkins and green onions in a bowl, then add Worcestershire sauce, paprika powder, garlic powder, sugar, and vinegar, and stir well. Add chili sauce, tomato sauce, and mayonnaise, then mix until combined, adding salt if needed.
To make caramelized onions, heat oil and sauté sliced onions over high heat until wilted, then add garlic and thyme, seasoning with salt and pepper.
Reduce the heat and cook the onions until browned, stirring occasionally, and add butter before turning off the heat.
To make the patty, take ground beef (size adjusted to burger bun) and shape it with your hands, then grill and flatten with a spatula, seasoning with salt and black pepper.
Flip the patty and place red cheddar cheese on top, cooking until done and the cheese melts. A pan lid can be used to help the cheese melt quickly.
Slice the burger buns in half and toast them with a little butter until the insides are golden brown.
Assemble the burger by spreading sauce on the bun, adding tomato, iceberg lettuce, the beef patty, caramelized onions, more sauce, a sprinkle of black pepper, and topping with the other half of the bun.
The cheese burger is ready to serve.
