Blend white bread to make breadcrumbs and set aside.
In a bowl, crack 1 egg for every 100g of ground beef, then add salt, pepper, and oregano.
Add the ground beef and breadcrumbs to the bowl.
Add a little drop of milk to the mixture for softness.
Mix the ingredients by hand, ensuring the dough is not too wet; add more breadcrumbs or cheese if too sticky.
Shape the meat mixture into balls, not worrying about the size too much.
Grab a pan for the sauce, and heat it until the onions are translucent.
Add chopped onions to the pan and cook on high heat until translucent.
Turn the heat down and add the tomato sauce, ensuring it contains only tomatoes, salt, and basil.
Season the sauce with salt and pepper, and add a couple of basil leaves.
Once the sauce starts bubbling, add the raw meatballs directly into the sauce.
Cover the pan and let the meatballs simmer for about 40 minutes on low heat, flipping them after 6-7 minutes.
Check the sauce occasionally, adding a little water if it reduces too much, and stir as needed.
