Add half of an ounce of simple syrup to the shaker.

Squeeze out a full ounce of fresh lemon juice into the shaker.

Add three quarters of an ounce of bourbon to the shaker.

Pour in an ounce and a half of amaretto.

Add one egg white to the shaker (optional).

Dry shake the mixture without ice for about 30 seconds to froth the egg whites.

Add ice to the shaker and shake for about 8 to 10 seconds.

Grab a rocks glass and prepare a large ice cube.

Double strain the mixture into the rocks glass over the ice cube.

Add a lemon peel to the cocktail and give it a little spritz over the top.

Top the drink off with a cherry.
