Welcome to the channel. Today we are making crispy fried onions without oil.
I have taken 500 grams of onions. You can use any quantity you prefer, like 1 kg, 2 kg, or 3 kg, but the method will remain the same.
I have washed the onions and now we need to keep them under a fan for 5 to 6 minutes to dry them.
After drying, we will slice the onions. It's important to slice them evenly; no slice should be thicker or thinner than the others.
Using a knife, slice the onions thinly and evenly. This ensures they fry uniformly without any being too thick or too thin.
Once sliced, separate the onion rings with your hands to ensure they fry properly.
Now we will fry the onions without oil. First, heat the pan on medium to low flame.
Spread the onions evenly in the pan, adding them in batches according to the pan's capacity. Do not overcrowd the pan, or the onions will release water and become soft.
Let the onions fry for about 2 minutes without stirring them.
After 2 minutes, flip the onions to the other side using a spatula. We want to dry out the moisture from the onions first before they start to color.
Let them fry for another 2 minutes without stirring again. Total frying time will be around 5 to 6 minutes to dry out the moisture.
Once the moisture is mostly gone and the onions start to change color, turn off the heat and let them cool down.
After cooling, turn the heat back on and fry for an additional 2 minutes until they reach a nice golden brown color.
After frying, stir the onions for 1 minute to prevent the bottom ones from getting too dark.
You can store the fried onions in an airtight container for up to a month. In winter, you can keep them outside, but in summer, store them in the freezer to maintain crispiness.
