Whisk the mixture until the sugar is dissolved, then heat it while stirring constantly to prevent sticking.

Realize that the custard is not enough, add another 0.5 liters of milk and 1/4 cup of custard powder, and adjust sugar to 3/4 cup if desired.

Once the custard thickens, pour it carefully into the cake tin over the cracker layer.
