1

Mix 2.5 cups of flour, 2 teaspoons of yeast, 2 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of salt in a mixing bowl.

2

Warm 1 cup of milk to between 120 and 130 degrees Fahrenheit.

3

Add 2 tablespoons of oil (olive, canola, or vegetable) and 1 egg to the warm milk.

4

Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients for about 2 minutes on high.

5

Add up to 1/4 cup of extra flour while the mixer is on low to help form a dough ball.

6

Once the dough is slightly tacky but not sticky, clear a counter space and flour it well.

7

Knead the dough by pressing down and folding it in half for 50 times.

8

Place the kneaded dough in a bowl to rest for 10 minutes.

9

Shape the dough into a loaf and place it in a greased bread pan.

10

Cover the pan with a towel and let it rise until it is about one inch above the pan, which may take 30 minutes to an hour depending on room temperature.

11

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

12

Once risen, bake the bread for 15 minutes, then cover with foil to prevent over-browning and bake for an additional 30 minutes.
