1 large onion, halved and sliced
1 medium green pepper, halved and sliced
1 celery rib, chopped
2-3 pounds boneless beef chuck roast
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/4 cup cold water

Gather all ingredients: Italian stewed tomatoes, beef broth, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, prepared mustard, garlic, soy sauce, pepper, onion, green pepper, celery, chuck roast, cornstarch, and cold water.

Slice the onion thinly after halving it.
