Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1/2 cup protein powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup almond milk (or any milk of choice)
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tbsp maple syrup (optional)
  • cooking spray (for waffle iron)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat your waffle iron according to the manufacturer's instructions.
  2. 2In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, protein powder, baking powder, and salt.
  3. 3In another bowl, mix together the almond milk, applesauce, vanilla extract, and maple syrup (if using).

  5. 5Lightly grease the waffle iron with cooking spray.
  6. 6Pour an appropriate amount of batter onto the preheated waffle iron (usually about 1/2 to 3/4 cup, depending on the size of your waffle iron).
  7. 7Close the waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer's instructions, usually about 5-7 minutes, until the waffles are golden brown.
  8. 8Carefully remove the waffles and repeat with the remaining batter.
  9. 9Serve warm with your favorite toppings such as fresh fruit, yogurt, or additional maple syrup.
