Cut kunafa dough into pieces.
Melt 100 grams of butter in a large bowl.
Add the kunafa dough to the melted butter and mix until evenly coated.
Cook the kunafa dough in a large pan until brown, about 10 minutes, adding more butter if necessary.
In a saucepan, combine milk and sugar, adjusting sugar to taste.
Add 2 tablespoons of cornstarch to the milk mixture and mix well until there are no lumps.
Cook the mixture until it thickens and reaches a milky consistency, whisking continuously.
Add mozzarella cheese to the thickened cream mixture and mix well.
Layer half of the kunafa dough in the baking dish, pressing down evenly.
Pour the cream mixture over the first layer of kunafa.
Add the remaining kunafa dough on top, pressing down gently.
Prepare the syrup by boiling 2 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar until thickened.
Pour the syrup over the kunafa, ensuring it reaches all corners.
Refrigerate for 1-2 hours before serving.
Garnish with chopped pistachios before serving.
