Add 20 grams of dried yeast to a bowl with 50 milliliters of lukewarm water and mix well.

Add 200 milliliters of milk to the yeast mixture and a small amount of flour, mix and set aside to ferment.

In a large bowl, combine 1.5 kilograms of fine white flour, 1 spoon of salt, 10 grams of vanilla sugar, and 10 grams of cardamom.

Grind 5-6 drops of mastija with 100 grams of white sugar until fine and add to the flour mixture.

Incorporate the yeast and milk mixture into the dough and mix by hand.

Knead the dough for about 15 minutes until smooth, then cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.

Divide the dough into three equal pieces and roll each piece into a long rope.

Braid the three ropes together and seal the ends, tucking them underneath.

Let the braided dough rise for 30 minutes.
