Pork shoulder can be less expensive and still provide a tender result.

American cheese is often cheaper and melts well.
Add 2 containers of beef broth to the crockpot.
Add 1 beef bouillon cube to the broth.
Add 1 tablespoon of Italian seasoning to the broth.
Add 1 teaspoon of garlic powder to the broth.
Add 1 teaspoon of paprika to the broth.
Add 2 tablespoons of chopped onion flakes to the broth.
Add 1 tablespoon of onion powder to the broth.
Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the broth.
Stir the broth and seasonings together until mixed well.
Cover the crockpot and let the broth heat up until it starts to boil.
Once the broth is boiling, add all the packs of shaved beef to the crockpot.
Stir the beef into the broth.
Let the beef cook for about 1.5 hours in the crockpot.
Cut up green bell peppers into desired size.
Add the green bell peppers to the crockpot about 1 hour before serving.
Cover the crockpot and let it cook for the remaining hour.
Once the beef is ready, serve it on Italian bread with some of the cooked peppers and hot peppers.
