How to Make Chocolate Crackles | Easy Chocolate Crackles Recipe Australian Treat

Welcome to the kitchen, I'm Matt Taylor. Today I'm making chocolate crackles, a popular Australian treat.

For this recipe, you'll need 3 cups of rice krispies, 1 and a quarter cups of chocolate chips, 1/3 cup of desiccated coconut, and 1/2 cup of unsalted butter.

Start by setting the heat to medium-low on the stovetop. Add the 1/2 cup of butter and 1 and a quarter cups of chocolate chips to a saucepan.

Stir continuously to prevent the chocolate from burning until the mixture is smooth.

Once melted, add the 1/3 cup of desiccated coconut and stir to combine.

Next, add the 3 cups of rice krispies and mix until all the rice krispies are coated in the chocolate mixture.

Remove the mixture from the stovetop and prepare a muffin pan lined with paper cups.

Using two spoons, scoop the mixture into the lined muffin cups, mounding them as desired. You can use mini muffin pans for smaller portions.

Refrigerate the chocolate crackles for 15 to 30 minutes until they set.

Once set, they should come out of the paper cups easily.
