Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente; drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat; add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until translucent, about 3-4 minutes.
Add ground beef and Italian sausage to the skillet; cook until browned, breaking it apart, about 5-7 minutes.
Stir in marinara sauce, salt, and black pepper; simmer for 10 minutes to blend flavors.
In a bowl, combine ricotta cheese, egg, and fresh basil; mix until smooth.
Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish; layer 1/3 of the lasagna noodles on top.
Spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles, followed by 1/3 of the mozzarella cheese and 1/3 of the meat sauce.
Repeat the layering process, finishing with noodles, remaining meat sauce, and topping with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Let the lasagna rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
