Suya, originating from the Hausa people of West Africa, is a popular street food in Cameroon, often enjoyed at gatherings and celebrations. This dish highlights the use of spices and grilling techniques that enhance the flavor of the meat. Today, Suya has gained international popularity, with variations appearing in many countries, adapting to local tastes and ingredients.

Prepare the skewers by soaking them in water for 30 minutes to prevent burning.
Mix ground peanuts, cayenne pepper, paprika, salt, black pepper, thyme, and minced garlic in a bowl.
Add vegetable oil and lemon juice to the spice mixture and stir until combined.
Cut beef into thin strips and marinate in the spice mixture for at least 1 hour.
Thread the marinated beef onto the soaked skewers.
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Place the skewers on the grill and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and slightly charred.
Remove from the grill and let rest for a few minutes.
Serve with sliced onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, and lettuce.
