Grate the cheddar cheese.

In a mixing bowl, add paprika to the plain flour and mix.

Add cubed butter to the flour mixture.

Using the tips of your fingertips, press the butter into the flour until it resembles breadcrumbs.

Add most of the grated cheese to the mixture, reserving some for topping later, and mix it in.

Gradually add water, a little at a time, mixing until a dough forms. You may not need all the water.

Pre-flour your work surface and roll out the dough until it's between half a centimeter to a centimeter thick.

Cut the rolled dough into strips of desired size.

Preheat the oven to gas mark 5, 190°C or 170°C fan-assisted.
