Melt butter in the microwave.

Add 1 teaspoon of mixed spice essence (or vanilla) to the melted butter.

Add 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 1 whole egg to the mixture and mix well.

Sift in 1.5 cups of all-purpose flour and mix with a fork.

Microwave 1/4 cup of cream cheese for 20 seconds and add to the mixture.

Break chocolate bars into chunks and add to the batter, mixing some in and placing some on top.
