Preheat oven to 350°F.

In a skillet, sauté chopped onion over medium heat until translucent.

Add ground beef to the skillet and brown for about 5 minutes.

Season with a pinch of salt and black pepper to taste.

Pour in 1/2 cup of milk, then add cream of chicken soup and cream of mushroom soup, stirring to combine.

Add frozen mixed vegetables and mix well.

Transfer the mixture to a greased glass casserole dish.

Layer frozen tater tots on top of the beef mixture.

Shred about 1 1/2 cups of Monterey Jack cheese and sprinkle over the tater tots.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes.
