1 parsnip, sliced
3 celery stalks, sliced
2 tomatoes, diced
1 green pepper, sliced
8 cups water
3 to 4 medium potatoes, cut into 1-inch pieces

Remove the lid from the goulash and check that it is simmering.

Add the sliced carrots, sliced parsnip, sliced celery stalks, diced tomatoes, and sliced green pepper to the pot.

Measure and add 1 cup of water to the pot with the vegetables.

Let the mixture simmer for another hour.

After 30 minutes of simmering, check the vegetables which should be softened.

Add 6 more cups of water to the pot, totaling 8 cups of water.

Add the cut 1-inch pieces of potatoes to the pot.

Bring the mixture to a boil.

Add goulash cream (seasoned tomato paste) to the boiling goulash and stir.

Add cut paprika strands to the boiling goulash and stir well.

Let the goulash simmer for 20 minutes before serving.
