Preheat the oven to 375°F.
Mash 1 banana in a large mixing bowl using a fork or hand mixer.
Add 1 and 3/4 cups milk to the mashed banana.
Add 1/3 cup maple syrup or honey to the mixture.
Melt 2 tablespoons of butter in the microwave in 30-second intervals until melted.
Crack 2 large eggs into the bowl with the other ingredients.
Add 3 teaspoons of vanilla extract to the mixture.
Add 2 tablespoons of brown sugar to the bowl.
Mix the ingredients together until combined.
Add 3 cups of old-fashioned oats to the mixture.
Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt to the bowl.
Mix everything together thoroughly.
Fold in 1 pint of blueberries gently to avoid breaking them.
Add 1/2 cup of pecans, reserving half for topping.
Pour the mixture into a greased 9x9 baking dish and spread it out evenly.
Sprinkle the remaining chopped pecans on top of the mixture.
Bake in the oven for 42 to 45 minutes, until it starts to separate from the sides and is slightly brown.
Let the baked oatmeal sit for a few minutes to set before cutting.
Cut into squares and serve, optionally drizzling with maple syrup.
