Today, tiramisu has gained international fame and has inspired countless variations, from fruit-infused versions to vegan adaptations.

Coffee extract adds flavor without alcohol.
Prepare the coffee by mixing 2 cups of warm water with 5 teaspoons of instant espresso coffee and 1 teaspoon of cocoa powder, then add 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar to sweeten.
In a mixing bowl, combine 16 ounces of room temperature Mascarpone cheese with 2 tablespoons of vanilla extract.
In another bowl, whisk together 3 egg yolks and 2/3 cups of granulated sugar until the mixture is light and creamy.
In a separate bowl, whip 2 cups of cold heavy whipping cream until stiff peaks form.
Gently fold the whipped cream into the Mascarpone mixture until well combined.
Dip 42 lady fingers quickly into the prepared coffee mixture, then layer them in a dish.
Spread half of the Mascarpone mixture over the lady fingers, then repeat the layers with the remaining lady fingers and Mascarpone mixture.
Dust the top with 1/4 cup of cocoa powder before serving.
