1

Preheat oven to 275°F (135°C).

2

Place 16 ounces of potato bread stuffing cubes in the oven for 25 to 30 minutes to dry out, tossing halfway through.

3

In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 4 tablespoons of butter.

4

Add 1 pound of turkey breakfast sausage (removed from casing) to the skillet and cook, chopping and stirring for about 5 minutes until no longer pink.

5

Add 1 large finely diced onion, 3 stalks of diced celery, and 1 cubed granny smith apple to the skillet, along with a dash of salt and black pepper. Cook and stir for about 3 minutes until the onions start to change color.

6

Add 2 cloves of minced garlic, 1/4 cup of fresh chopped sage, and 1 tablespoon each of fresh chopped rosemary and thyme to the skillet. Cook and stir for another minute, then turn off the heat to cool slightly.

7

In a large bowl, combine the toasted bread cubes with the sausage mixture and toss well.

8

Add 1/4 cup of chopped fresh parsley, a little more salt and black pepper, and 1 teaspoon of poultry seasoning to the mixture and toss again.

9

Add 2 eggs to the mixture and toss to incorporate everything evenly.

10

Gradually add 3 cups of homemade chicken broth to the mixture, stirring until the desired wetness is achieved.

11

Pour the stuffing mixture into a well-buttered 9x13 pan and level it out.

12

Cover the pan lightly with foil and bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20 minutes.

13

Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the top is slightly golden brown.
